Fight, Flight, Freeze or Fawn

This makes me laugh - because it feels so true! We all have a fight, flight or indeed freeze response. When we as early humans were living in the wilderness and needed protection from danger such as animals and/or other predators, a part of our brain called the amygdala, adapted and switched on to help us to either fight the predator or flee from the situation. Fighting or fleeing (aka avoidance) was our brain’s adaptive response to danger. This response is very helpful and adaptive when it comes to life-threatening situations... but less helpful when an email drops in our box.

But there are ways to work around this... and to teach your amygdala cues to calm down...

If I can help you explore how this would work for you, do get in touch.

PS I've recently learnt about a new response also - Fawn. Fawn is your body's stress response to try to please someone to avoid conflict..
